Dichato, Chile
March 26, 2010
Heading south to Patagonia now, but wanted to share some pictures from Dichato taken over the past week. The town was almost completely destroyed by a tsunami following an 8.8 magnitude earthquake at the end of February. The photos are from the center of town and along the beach front. We put together a short video while we were there, hope to have some excerpts up soon.

Dichato, Chile
March 22, 2010
For the past week I have been in Chile with my wife, Rafaela Persson, working on a video project on a small fishing village called Dichato about 30km north of Concepcion. A few hours after the 8.8 magnitude earthquake 3 weeks ago, the village was inundated by a tsunami (actually 3 waves, the largest over 5 meters according to residents). The destruction to the village was nearly total -the entire center of the town, or approximately 800 homes, were completely destroyed. The foundations are all that remain for many of the homes. I’ll have some pictures up here shortly and hopefully some video soon after.
New Blog
March 9, 2010
In an effort to expand my horizons as I experiment in mixed media with a focus on journalism, I have decided to start a blog. My goal is to showcase and discuss my own approaches to storytelling using video, still images, audio and in some cases text, but also to simply have an outlet for my experiences on the road. As I am new to blogging, it may take several weeks, if not months, to pin down a rhythm for posting , and figure out all the bells and whistles. In any event: Enjoy.
